About
A broker that shows its working
Covernote places commercial insurance for owner-managed businesses: manufacturers, contractors, property owners and the professional practices that sit alongside them. We are a broker, not an insurer, and we are paid by the insurer rather than by you.
Why we show the arithmetic
Most commercial insurance is bought on price because price is the only number anyone is shown. What a policy would actually pay is knowable in advance, and it is the number that decides whether the cover was worth buying at all. We put it on the page rather than in a meeting.
That occasionally costs us business. A client who learns their sum insured is 30% light and fixes it pays a higher premium, and we are the ones who told them to. We think that is the job.
How we are paid
Commission from the insurer on the policies we place, disclosed on request in every case. We do not charge broker fees on renewals, and we do not take volume overrides that would bias which insurer we recommend.
